Hi from Kinchela
« on: April 16, 2011, 02:55:13 PM »
Hi from Mick & Cheryl,
We live close to South West Rocks on the Mid North Coast of NSW.
I've been studying this forum for month's to get info on camper trailers & have found it to be a fantastic resource with some really knowledgeable members who obviously devote a lot of their time to helping others.
As a result, we purchased a '97 Trackabout Safari over Christmas & the last few months have been spent sourcing fridges, eskies, lights & all manner of stuff to make our new escape machine complete & the upgrading of the old Pajero's suspension/electrical system. The old bank balance has sure taken a hit with all the extras but I think the worst of it is over! The camper came with a full awning & screens, inner spring mattress, 80l water tank, Drifta tailgate kitchen, extra large front toolbox & twin 70A/HR batteries. I've since installed a 150w Solar setup with 30amp mppt controller & NASA BM-1 battery monitor(courtesy of Mandrake), & an LED lighting system for which I have to acknowledge/thank forum member Dion for the design.
We've had two trips away so far & everything performs superbly.
Our passion is bass fishing & canoeing on the beautiful Upper Macleay River but we hope to explore other river systems on the east coast & further afield eventually.
I'm a Fitter/Machinist/Diesel Mechanic by trade currently being reprogrammed as a sewer treatment plant operator....I guess I'm always in the sh**!
Next task with winter well on the way is to build us a little wood stove similar to the pig....already got some great ideas from this forum...keep 'em coming. ;D

Hi Mick and Cheryl, welcome to My Swag.
Just thinking that if you build a wood heater like the pig, it could be a pig in sh##.
