Bullfrog
I was only taking a midsize saw so another option is i could bring a 50m length of afc chain and we could put it between 2 landcruisers and pull the scrub. :D

No doubting that Karen, and being all Swaggers I'd think of nothing less, but it is still the score in the end, not how flash the tries were. ;D

Righto, I got off my arse and rang NPWS, or whatever they're called this week.  They confirmed that they will not take any bookings, but that they had not had to turn anyone away that they could recall.

There is a caretaker at Diamond Head, but they're not publicly contactable.

I I found this website, although the GPS reference given here and that I get from Garmin Mapsource vary slightly. Punch it into Google Earth for a gander.

Kylie's Beach Campground . Everyone clear on how to get there?

Importantly, there is no drinking water at the site, so please be sure you pack a jerrycan or two. I believe clean water can be obtained from Diamond Head, so we should not run short in any case.

And just to add to that...either before or straight after setting up, you need to go to Diamond Head and pay for your site...they won't come and collect the fees, but they will come and check to see if you have a tag stuck to your tent..

We could always pay for the ones that are going to be late and then peg out a tarp for their spot with their ticket stuck to the corner of it. That way they will have a spot when they arrive.

Unfortunately the Google Earth image of the campsite is out of focus (the next one 100m away is perfect) so it's not possible to establish how big it is from there.

I'd say a few tomato stakes and some bunting would suffice to block off some space. The earlier arrivals can spread out to box an area maybe, pilgrims circling the wagons so to speak.

I was thinking of a sing to say "Bag Pipe Beginners Camp", maybe "Sleep Apnea Annual Convention - We Didn't hear a Thing" would do the trick

Ive been here but not camped so I'm asking those with a better memory. Does the camp have a large open area or is it a series of smaller nooks. I seem to think the later but i could be wrong

I'll be one of the 1st to get there.....how about a sign saying....2nd annual nudists convention !!!

And if that doesn't scare them....a quick look at me and the missus with no gear on will have them either heading for the hills or dry wretching .....or both !! ;D ;D

A bit of both Darren, but there is a main area that is fairly big and would fit us all in ..

Apparently I am known to make some noise while sleeping too. I will be blaming the missus though.

The outside edges of Kylie's are mainly nooks & crannies but there is a rather large area in the middle that as Gronk has said would fit all of us no problems.

I was just looking at the camping prices for the Crowdy National Park.  They have gone up a bit since I was last in a park.  They are now $10 per adult and $5 for a child and $7 a day for the car.
