This site looks great! Just wanted to say hi! We are a family of 5 with kids 12/9 and 5. Doing a bit of camper trailer research and noticed something funny......

Have you noticed that on YouTube, all of the “camper trailer of the year” entrants are winners, runners up or finalists? There are more winners than finalists! AND every trailer website I go onto seems to have won the camper trailer of the year award......maybe I’ve missed something though, but it is a bit funny!

Anyway, I’m doing some reading to work out what we need. What we LOVE 😍is too expensive ie: forward folding hardfloor that sleeps six with outdoor pullout kitchen and en-suite (which is out of sight from the annex on the other side the trailer)

SO,

We are considering sticking with our tent and finding or making a trailer that has
*a pull out/flip up kitchen accessible even for a quick stop off
*pullout camp fridge/freezer
*water storage + hot water and connectivity for shower
*gas storage
*Geri can storage
*bike racks/tinnie storage
*solar energy system
*Maybe room for a rhino rack batwing awning over the kitchen
*decent ground clearance (about 500mm)
*finally space for our tent, camping chairs, camping bunks and beds

All so that our camping stuff is ready to hitch to the back of the 🚙 and head off camping at a moments notice

Not asking for much haha.  Looking forward to gleaning from all of your experience and knowledge. It’s almost as fun as actually going camping!

A tent + the features you mentioned is pretty much the definition of most well set up softfloors, and you can get great value 2nd hand.

Under 20K.

I like the Blue Water Lachlan but it’s over 40k, the patriot X1 is over 50k and the complete campsite Fraser model  over 50k as well....looking in the wrong places I think 🤔......

This fits the request

Thanks so much for pointing these guys out! I hadn’t heard of them before and I find what they have really interesting. Will definitely be going through their site thoroughly for a while. Seems like there’s such a huge demand for the Dot 4 that they’ve had to take it off the market for a while.....and I really like the dot 4! Haha I’d probably add a bit of kitchen to it and would be done. They seem quite agile and sturdy too

and 10k will get you a lot of soft floor + a 30 second tent and 10k for travelling will get you out a hell of a lot]]

or a softfloor with 12ft tent will sleep 5 with kids on bunks quite easily.
