hilux nut  lan when heading off to where ever , take what you think you need . Also take a pen & paper to write a list of all the stuff you forgot to take . Do short trips to get the flow of the camping gig weather it be in a Van park  :'( or in the back yard at home . lts all good . Food , cooking kit , cloths , grog ( if that's your thing ) build up your kit then go Nuts

Hi Ian welcome, best advice I can give is be very wary of any myswag'rs who's forum name ends in 'eewa' :-)

Seriously a big welcome and enjoy. Lots of great info and tips, but you will lose many hours of your life on here.....

Be EXTRA careful of   people that warm you of others    ,   as they might be not as nice as Timtam biscuit .
                                           Enjoy

Hi Ian & welcome. We nearly have enough Mackay members to have a Xmas weekend as some other localities do. Good chance to meet up.
Food for thought
All men dream but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible.

G'day Ian and welcome.

Another Mackayite here so good to see the ranks growing in our little town. If your keen for a catchup just let us know.

Also consider joining one of the 4wd clubs in Mackay as they have access to some great campsites. I belong to the Mackay And Districts 4WD Club which is a great club http://www.mackay4wdclub.com.

Cheers

A bit belated, but welcome to the Forum.
It looks as if there will be a catch up weekend sometime in the near future, maybe when it cools down a bit.
Regards
