Our First CT Eagle Outback '11
« on: March 22, 2011, 11:29:57 AM »
Hi everyone,

Just bought a new Jayco Eagle Outback from the Perth Caravan and Camping Show. New to camper trailers but been camping in tents all my life. Have 2 young kids so decided the camper would make are life a lot easier. Looked for a good second hand one in Perth but would be paying the close to the same price for a new one with a few extra's (Show Price) couldn't resist. Will be delivered end of June Can't wait to get out there. Can't sleep at night as I'm thinking of all the mod's I will be doing.

Happy Camping Everyone

Welcome to the forum, The Jayco's are a great bit of gear, I too bought mine from the Caravan and camping show a few years back and as you say a 2nd unit is not much different in price to a new one, these baby's really do hold their value, I sold mine 2 years after purchasing it for $1000 less than what i paid.
Anywho, you will find a tonne of info here relating to the jaycos and camping

Cheers
Darren

Gidday Rooster, Welcome aboard
There's plenty of info to share amongst the Jayco clan, so ask any questions, only too happy to help. or search 'jayco' on this site - there's a heap of info on handy mods done by various people over the years
I picked my 2010 run-out model up in Jan '11 (no wait as it was in stock at good $'s) and have done some simple handy mods
These campers really are a great concept.

Jayco Mods -

Extended drawbar, Roof Racks, Sound system, Bed end bags, Fully bagged awning, Outside shower (water pump), Tregg Hitch.

My Mods to add
Custom rear tool box, generator box and cover for drawbar, anderson plug for charging while driving, plumb up 2x gas points each side of camper, 2x deep cells, 2nd water tank? air cond?

Also have a question with my order with Jayco as they are fitting a Tregg hitch will that come with the towbar fitment too? Also does anyone have any preferred suggestions with which electric brake unit to be fitted to my vehicle? :-[

Hi roosters mob
Welcome to myswag . Great site for jayco campertrailer owners .
We fitted a Tekonsha Prodigy controller on our hawk 3 years ago .
Have done many trips since with no problems and after the first set up we haven't needed to adjust it.

It is a long wait but it does work :-)

Our Eagle OB '11 arrived today, will pick it up thursday. Should I rub it in and post a couple of pictures then?

Far too many ideas in this forum, could possibly lose a lot of time.
