Day 2

Well the Friday saw a few enjoying a lazy sleep in after an early start the day before with Yogi starting the day off with an early fish along with Paul and Ethan giving it a shot as well.  We saw the next wave of MySwaggers being Bugone and Sablesoft arriving by 9am with the remaining organising kids, food and drinks for a quick run up to Champagne Pools for the morning.  As we headed up the beach it was a quick drop off of rubbish at Dundubara with Amanda’s commentary again explaining where water could be sourced and where to go for showers.  There was time to stop quickly for the fun of finding pipies which everyone joined in and we’re sure a few of the kids were digging their way to China, we all had an awesome time with having fresh bait for an afternoon fish.  With the tide hot on our heels we headed direct to Champagne Pools finding Indian Head bypass road extremely easy, Yogi explained along the way where we needed to be careful when heading back with the many trees being exposed from erosion.  Everyone took a while to acclimatise to the fresh temperature of Champagne Pools whilst there were no flies on Yogi with beer in hand headed straight in.  We all spent about an hour at Champagne Pools as it was time to get out of dodge before we would have the wait for the tide to be able to get back to camp.  We arrived back at camp for a quick lunch and those who wanted to fish got their rigs sorted to attempt to catch dart, whiting and tailor.  Whilst the Kid’s Fraser Fiasco Fish-off 2012 was well underway others decided to have a dip in the ocean or ride down the dunes in front of Camp MySwag.  Frostd’s daughter Natalie being the first cab off the rank with a mighty 40cm dart entry, mum where’s the camera and ruler for proof.  Well done Natalie, she was determined to win however this also fired up some of the other entrants not to give up as many other fish were caught for the afternoon session.  As dusk approached there were a few blue lips and shivering children who enjoyed a nice hot shower before getting back in the fun of playing in the sand.  That’s one thing on Fraser that you can’t escape – sand it’s everywhere.  As the sun dropped behind the hill at Camp MySwag the temperature dropped fast so the pig also fondly known as the ‘Boar’ was bought out from hibernation and stoked up to keep a few of us warm before another relatively early night.
