Title: Hi from Wollongong nsw
Post by: 2freeq on July 22, 2014, 05:52:02 PM
well as the title says im from Wollongong nsw. The missus and myself have decided its time to move from a tent into a camper trailer so the search has begun the "right" one. we have decided we want to start off in a cheaper second hand one (if anyone is selling let me know) such as a MDC, GIC or blue tongue etc. i have about $4000 to play with and scouring ebay and gumtree i should be able to get something for that price. id like to have atleast one annex with walls and battery system and kitchen. anything else doesnt fuss me too much. obviously the more the merrier but im happy to keep it simple to start with.

anyway enough rambling and hopefully ill see some of you out and about sometime

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your search. Have a look on the classifieds section of myswag, you may see something there - and don't discount considering a second hand one which might have had lots of extras added to it.

Hi and Welcome.

There is a shop in Warrawong that sells boating, fishing and camping gear(next to KFC) that had new campers for about the sort of money you talking about.

Tony.

Keep your eye out on the 2nd hand market. I got a Downunders Camper with independent suspension, full annex with 2 sets of zip in walls (solid & midgy) & another awning over the drawbar side, door kitchen (I'm planning to remove it & make a slide out) 2 x 105Ah AGM batteries in the integral front box & a 60l ARB fridge on a slide for $6000

The fridge & slide would be $2000 by them selves.

I'm 7 weeks into a 9 week trip around the big island & loving it. We drove through Woolongong today.

Hi
I checked out the secondhand market but found that everyone wanted FAR too much so I decided to get a new one....I found that Auisse made was better so check before you buy. I also live in Wollongong. A mate got a REDBACK camper for under $4K and is doing it up mine was a customline and was over $14K it is up to you what you settle with but check Canvas the most important.
