its a snow slider.

They tend to last a day or two of fun. They are banned from most Aussie resorts, but there are some great places to use them out side of the resort.
Not the smartest thing for young children though, they are a little quick haha

I thought it looked a little wide to get on a rail. I can imagine that it goes like a rocket.
We are all surfing fat arsed things that sort of look like that. They're ugly but are unbelievable fun to ride.
Cheers Nomad.

haha yeah, just a bit.
We usually go snowboarding in the morning till just after lunch. Then when the body hurts a bit, break out the sliders and see if we can make it down the bottom with out either
A) serious injury >:D
B) Breaking the slider haha

This was the Patrol yesterday morning outside the Wangaratta Ski Club at Hotham. Great snow everywhere.

Where are you heading to?
Hotham has 8cm and Falls 7cm of fresh overnight ;D
We are thinking about sneaking a day trip in tomorrow to Hotham :)
-
I really want to be up there today after the past few days we have had it would be so nice.
But i have other things on for the next two weeks so no fun for me :(

That big blue thing looks suspiciously like a patient slide 8) hope you don't need it as that

Made it to falls creek. No incidents so far. No leaks so at least we should make it home tonight this time.
We got here about 8am and have done 10 runs so far.
Body isn't hurting much so will do another couple of hours before the snow slider comes out.
I should have some photos tonight for everyone.
All I can say is the snow quality is great at the moment, so if you are thinking of going for a day, do it! ;D

When I was a teenager living in Colorado, we had something similar to toboggan with....it was a sheet of thick plastic that you rolled up to carry. It was ridiculously fast and dangerous, but heaps of fun!

Hope you have a good day
Just got back from a week at Buller. Some good days some real bad days. Lucky our day off the mountain was the worst day on Buller. Already planning the next trip in a few weeks
Had 2 traditional type plastic toboggans. Can't steer them just straight line and safe-ish. Also had an Aldi version of your blue one, but no grab handles. VERY fast, couldn't steer it. Half way down it decided a sharp right turn was in order but didn't tell me! Face plant and that was my one and only run on it. Now Know why they are banned. My 8 year old loved it though he usually ended up bouncing off the front.

Lol nearly did after getting knocked off a chair lift down the bottom of towers. Bloody Jube fell over and grabbed the safety rail just as I was going to sit down pushing me off the side.
Tell you what I have never slammed myself down on my back so hard. I missed the other bloody chairlift by inches then as it went over my face I swear I had about an inch clearance.
Bloody rookies. >:(
Other than that and deciding to try the slider down somewhere I probably shouldn't have and ended up just tumbling in powder for a while I had a GREAT time ;D

Yep I know what you are talking about, conveyor belt is awesome for it too. The only thing is they were banned before the sliders were haha

Generally we only go for a day, due to it only taking an hour or so to get there. No point paying for accommodation really.
I did 4 days driving back and forth once, not in a hurry to do that again though. I think it took a month for all the bruises to fade.
I saw a young lad of about 4 or 5 go flying past me on a normal toboggan today. Went so fast he went up the embankment and then faceplanted the pads and back down again.
The sliders turn when weight gets shifted. They are pretty sensitive though. I dunno how on earth you managed to get that far with out handles though. lol good effort!

Stay off mountain at cheap accommodation. 45 minute drive which I find easy up to Buller as apposed to Falls and Hotham.
The snow drive looks like fun
