There's no Great Evil conspiracy against consumers within engineering, manufacturing and supply. Just the many tradeoffs incurred to satisfy diverse tastes, priorities and wallets. But first comes all the insatiable Gummint eggsperts, nanny-staters and usual suspects.

After putting the 3" lift in, I forgot that I had the chainsaw in it's case in the roof basket, drove under the shopping centre.
The noise it made as it hit the hight bar, scared the crap out of alot  of people. :)

You don't use magic to disappear, ya use a 4x4 & Swag.

I was 2 cars back driving into the local shops undercover carpark. The lead car had two road bikes on the roof and I can remember it going in slow motion and thinking that won’t fit. Proceeded to crunch the bikes, tear the roof bars off and fold into the back window smashing it in the process. Reckon it was 2 minute noodles for dinner for a few months after that.

I can be thankful that the height bar was on chains, and not fixed solidly.

On this, found the photo I've been looking for for a couple of days! ::)

This was the height bar (2.3m!) at our local Aldi a while back! :o, & it is on chains!

I can't begin to imagine how hard you would have to hit it to do that ???

My youngest has been selected to represent Tasmania in the National U16 Indoor Cricket Titles in Ipswitch at the end of June. He has put the effort in to make it.
He is 14 but already 6'2" with a size 14 foot and towers above most of his mates.
The driving from one of the state to the other ever other weekend has now been worthwhile.

Both. Flights are covered but we cover the accommodation.

Couldn't say no as I took the older one to Alice Springs last year for two rounds of the national BMX series.

Great movie (the original - wish I could find it online)

It's been 80 years since one of the most daring escapades of WWII, when Britain's Royal Air Force unleashed a secret weapon - the "bouncing bomb" on German dams.

Thirteen Australian airmen were part of Bomber Command's 617 squadron, involved in the Dambusters Raid on the nights of May 16 and 17, 1943, dropping the new bombs on dams in Germany's industrial heartland.

The new weapons were depth charges that could bounce along the water's surface before sinking and exploding.

Of the 19 Lancasters that joined the dangerous low-flying mission, eight were lost with 53 aircrew killed.

The squadron soon became famous as the Dambusters, with the ingenuity and courage involved in the operation documented in a 1955 film.

Veterans Affairs Minister Matt Keogh paid tribute to their bravery, saying Australian pilots Harold 'Mick' Martin and Jack Leggo were knighted for their part in the raid.

"The courage and skill these men showed while flying heavy bombers at an altitude of just 18 metres while maintaining speeds of 370 km per hour is truly remarkable, he said.

Yep, watched it last night off DVD ;D

& we had a chuckle about it - Guy Gibson has been told to select his crews, & he has the whole of RAF Bomber Command to pick from, so his first two choices are Aussies, followed by a Kiwi, then a Yank flying for the RAF! ;D
