What about finding an old, petrol, rotary hoe?  I wouldn't think there'd be too much needed to adapt one.

But a slab can get lighter but the winch won't  :cheers:

Not sure if your still chasing a mover. I can recommend this EBay model.I move my camper up a slight hill easily with this model. Campers around 2.5T loaded. Just make sure you get the two bracket fixing as they tend to bend otherwise. I had the Optitec model but gave up fixing all the problems.

Yep, bought 1 of those , and yes the supplied bracket does bend,  >:( I'm in the process of making a bracket almost exactly like your double clamp  :cheers:

I made this one to move my boat and van but have never used it.
Bonfig helical gearbox, baldor reduction DC motor/ gearbox and wheels off a quad bike.
170vdc motor so runs off a 240v DC drive controller through a 600W inverter.  Heaps of grunt but sold boat and made new parking spot for van.
