Small 240v tyre air compressors?
« on: December 04, 2017, 08:52:31 AM »
G'day all

Anybody seen a small 240v air compressor for tyres ???

Got a big compressor up the back in the shed but that's a pain in the backside to drag down the front to do tyres :'(

Also got a 12v compressor in the car, but, once again, that won't reach to do the caravan tyres while it's in the front yard :'(

So wondering about a small 240v compressor just to do tyres ???

Any thoughts ???

Why buy another compressor to use once a blue moon.. Easier to run a permanent air line along the wall/roof to the front of the shed with a quick fit on it :)

I had similar problem, I liked the look of a Stanley one that was over $200, however bit the bullet and grabbed one of these for about $100

there was a bundle deal where a accessory kit was included with tire inflator, a couple of spray guns and hose(that was not real flash) and other fittings. I have it for car, bikes and trailer, with a 10 m hose. It is much easier to lug around and easy to run an extension lead to where it is needed(used it in the street out front last week)

Just like Weeds has already advised.
Fit two Anderson plugs to the lead of the 12V. Compressor and make it more usable.
You could also get an extension lead made with Anderson Plug each end  from 6B&S.
And then you've got the ability to park the 4by beside the Camper/Caravan and still connect them.
As well as use the compressor from the rear of the 4by.  If you need the clamps on the Lead, just plug em in.

Probably silly thinking, I wonder if it's possible to run one of those Blackridge Air Compressor  though a 12V inverter for pumping tyres up out in the field?

Now, If I unbolted the 240V motor and threw in a small 12V starter motor...

Personally, air hose and zip ties are reasonably cheap and almost maintenance free.

Still looking at sorting Andersen's & so on, but just came across these: https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-18v-cordless-air-inflator-and-deflator_p6210400

Anybody had a go at one?
