Drop-down kitchen slide
« on: June 25, 2011, 06:42:01 PM »
I'm currently building my lift-off canopy/camper unit.  It's a bit high when on the ute tray to reach the fridge and kitchen.  I already have a platinumgear drop-down fridge slide, which works a treat, and wish to do something similar with a kitchen unit (like a drifta).  The only way I can think at the moment is buying another platinumgear unit (not cheap), and cutting it then extending it.

Are there any other options for this type of approach - I'd rather not use a stool to reach the kitchen?  :-[

Having just fitted a drop down slide over the weekend, Perhaps you could take my tailgate table using fold up hinges from Camec that cost $15 each.

I reckon if you made up a bracket on one side of the fridge slide, you could mount these hinges and pop up a table beside the fridge. The table could extend back behind the fridge a bit if required as you'll have room in the back of your ute.
