With us, it depends on how we are cooking.  When we are camping. she normally cooks if we are using the gas stove and I normally cook if we are cooking over a fire.

Us too but we try and cook over the fire as much as possible so Hubby usually cooks and I clean up. He enjoys fiddling with the fire and camp oven more than is necessary :D and I enjoy his camp cooking - works for both of us  ;D

I do all the cooking while camping, and we share the washing / cleaning up. At home I am supposed to do the cooking as well, but sometimes other things are happening and I don't get around to it  8)

I'm a 'cook to survive' cook. The minister is a GREAT cook, so my theory is why suffer when you can enjoy :)

I do all outside cooking - camping is outside :)

Sounds about the same for us too.     At home though, hubby does the majority of the cooking as he is home from work around 4pm, whereas most of the time I'm not home till almost 6.  Also he hates to wash up and the rule in our house has always been - whoever cooks, doesn't have to clean up.  Works for us.

We are the same.  I'll cook over the fire and she cooks with the gas cooker.  Depends on what we are having though.  And how much alcohol I've had by dinner time!

Camp cooking is a male domain in my family, home cooking is shared.  Simple rule tho' he/she who cooks is excused from cleaning duties.  This works well until you go camping with the kids and no SWMBO - the simple rule then is Dad does everything!!!
SWMBO made me do it (whatever it was I did)!

I do the cooking (and the cleaning up), but then there is only me ...

But the cooking is the easy part ... Ms 13 is a vegetarian! Mr 7 loves the good old bland food. Me, I'll have a curry every night (beef massaman please). See my dilema? And thats just dinner.

Breaky - Ms 13 gets up in time to see me washing up and then would like something in a bowl, something on a plate, a cup of tea and a juice (more washing up). Meantime Mr 7 has moved onto his 6th breakfast (been up since the sparrows). Someone put the kettle on, I need MORE coffee!!

All that said, there are never any complaints when we are camping about the food, tummys are full, Mummy is happy with a mix of coffee (am) and wine (pm) and we can never get enough of the good life. Who cares who cooks. Just do it!

When we go camping I do most of the cooking, when I'm at home we share it and when I'm in Sydney working I have to do it myself as there is no other option although I work on call shift work so never really know if I will be around from one meal to the next.

At home my wife does all the cooking. When camping, I do the cooking, she does the food preparation (vegies etc). I wash up, she dries up. She pours the wines.
