Groups For The Trip
« on: January 17, 2012, 11:35:07 AM »
As we have a large number of members on this trip 28 confirmed I will break in to 3 groups.

Group 1: Recovery vehicles will be J.K and Mick , Rodsswag and Draggin.

Group 2: Recovery vehicles will be Symon, Peter03GU and Mr Bitchi

Group 3: Recovery vehicles will be Duggie, Bert and Hen

I will use Chris J as a back up.

J.K and Mick , Symon, Duggie  have done the trip last year and know what to expect and have the experiance.

The other members in the recovery teams will be back ups and one will be at the back of the group in case we need to recover members back out of the crossings.

The main crossings will be Palm Creek, Gunshot and Nolans Brook. Again it will depend on what wet season we have.

These recovery vehicles will also be used to go ahead to grab good camping spots before the rest of us arrive.

Shower them with beer when they need some  ;D

Once I have allocated the huts I will allocate who is in what groups so that you are travelling with the people you will be sharing a hut with.

I am in the process of writing up a daily fact sheet for members who have not done this trip so that they will know what to expect each day, when to have their recovery gear ready, when to fuel up and what to look out for when driving the roads, especially the dips!!!

Looks good Mark.  I like the idea of going first so I can smooth out the track for everyone else ;D

Another thought - do all the recovery vehicles have UHFs?  That would be the main necessity apart from good recovery points.
Do not PM me for technical advice - start a thread.

A new thread has been done. Thanks mate. As far as I know they have but they should be reading this and do the necessary additions. Just think of all the beer you will get.
