Title: Fishing at the Cape..
Post by: McGirr on December 20, 2011, 06:24:57 PM
Better start a new thread on this for the Cape virgins ..

There is good fishing off the jetty with plenty of bait fish under it. A good size bara was caught last trip off the jetty. Martin made sure everyone in Seisa was aware he caught it by parading it up and down the beach.

The jetty is 500 mtres from our huts.

You can hire boats also and Bert , yogi , Tim and I trolled around the islands to catch 3 good size Queenie's.

You will need a good range of lures, big traces and good strong line plus a rod as there are some monster fish around.

Oh under the rules of the trip , section 7 paragraph 4 .... "All fish caught at the Cape must be shared with the main organizer and his assistants"  :D

How would you suggest carring fishing rods only the trip.
I am thinking the rod holders on the bullbar might not work, so I was going to use some PVC pipe under the tray of the ute but above the chaise.
What do you think

I used PVC piping attached to a roof rack but either way is good. The PVC piping works well.

Anyone interested?

I checked the price, $350 for 3 anglers. It is expensive if you don't catch much, cheaper to buy fish. I might just look around for somewhere to throw a line in.

Hi Jaycamrie,

What's the cost to fish the Annan river for a few hours in the morning?

Anywhere for that matter.

It doesn't matter what the cost is, count me in.

I'll try to fit a couple of crab and red claw pots in.
