Title: What to do / Where to go after the trip ???
Post by: Mandrake on May 04, 2014, 02:12:07 PM
RACV mag had a bit of write up about Binns Track so we are thinking about driving from Gemtree down to Mt Dare staying at Trephina Gorge NP and  Old Andado Station then have a poke around Mt Dare / Witjira NP / Dalhousie Springs . Not travelling too far or fast ...
Then probably head back and East to Kulgera ... Gravitational Centre ( Lambert's) is in there just after Finke ..
Then slowly head back home - gotta be back by 2nd August ...

Sounds like a good trip on its own steve!
We'll head down the highway to Coober Pedy for a couple of nights, we've booked into an underground motel which should be pretty cool :D Then we'll make our way across to Broken Hill or Silverton, stay a couple of nights and have a look around. Then we head south past Menindee Lakes and along the Darling River to Gol Gol and stay a night with family there.
From there its back home :'(

One day I am going to be you guys - heading off on legendary routes like this, instead of sitting here waiting for everyone to arrive! xo Hope to catch you at Gemtree.

Cheers!

When you go to Lambert's make sure you sign the visitor's book  ;D   We did when we were there enroute to the 2011 National Meet - we stayed the night and one helluva party!

Coober is well worth the look you can easily spend 3 days pottering around.
It is a big day but you can drive a day trip from Coober out to william creek and see if there is any water in lake eyre. Also another day trip is the painted desert

Yeah mate, looking forward to the stay at Coober. We're heading to Alice up the Oodnadatta Track, staying 2 nights at Coward Springs, so we will be doing a day trip to William Creek and Lake Eyre from there. Hope to find time to see the Painted Desert also. There's so much to see up there, can't wait!!
16 sleeps til we leave ;D
