General Discussion / Possible Cape Trip
« Last post by paceman on Yesterday at 06:04:06 AM »
Hi all,

We are thinking about making a Cape trip this time next year... starting to plan...

Will be just us at this stage, with our Pajero and rear fold camper.

Looking for advice, tips, locations,  recommended places to stay, etc... that others have experienced...

A few notes:

Not interested in doing the OTT, Gunshot or anything of that nature... will be sticking to the PDR, mainly.
Obviously looking at doing the Tip Sign photo
Not that confident in major 4wding by myself

Any info that forum members can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Have had good dealings with them, a faulty product was replaced within days from WA to Vic.

When I had a 4WD/camping business I dealt with the owner in w.a. quite often, very friendly…

Also as quoted online ‘ iTechworld is a Western Australian family owned and operated company’

Have had their slimline lithium 50amp in my car for a couple of years, all good

He also said the canopy is re-enforced inside with a load rated roll cage so all the weight is transferred to the tray.  Nothing is sitting on the vehicle roof.

its actually sitting on the tray with the Ford..  So its actually 260kg distributed on 4 points of contact, so 65 kg on each.  Although its high up, and will drastically reduce fuel consumption, its probably well within the Fords load capacity (along with all the other stuff he has fitted to it).

If I were going to do something like that (which I have no interest in)  that type of vehicle would be my choice, not a Hilux/Ranger/Etc.
