Is Europe going to handover carmaking to China who are 10 years ahead of them with batterymaking?

That's what their carmakers are telling the climate changing brains trust now-

Oz got out of subsidised carmaking at a very fortuitous time and the Chinese can slash prices and engage in dumping here all they like which they are doing because we're a perfect Western test market for them  :cup:

Edit: So it begins and they weren't bluffing-

KIA warning about the NVES beginning in the new year  :police:

What it means is prices of petrol and diesel vehicles will rise due to $100/gram of CO2 combined fines above overall fleet allowances if carmakers can't sell enough EVs to offset them. Clearly KIA know that will be a struggle and they won't be alone among the carmakers apart from the flood of new Chinese EV marques. Ve haf vays of making you switch deplorables!  >:D

PS: Now China burns 56% of the world's coal including a fair chunk from Oz but they do like an opportunity when they spot a bunch of virtue signalling dumbasses- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aU_S97Ae1eg
while they dump their coal fired EVs into Europe driving German auto makers out of business.

WilSurf:
Still love our Chinese made EV, using Ozzie coal.

Nothing wrong with EVs for those who have the use for them but the feelgood fantasy of Bowen and Co will always be mugged by the reality of physics engineering and economics and here's physicist Mark Mills on that with the really big picture facts of life-

The world of men isn't going to run on the emotion of Gretahead schoolgirls or the carpetbaggers and grifters riding the gravy train.
