EVs are a perfectly functional vehicle for commuting and as such can make very good sense for those with off-street parking and charging particularly with solar panels on their roof. If you really like performance a Tesla Model 3 or Y would be ideal although with all the Big Brother about using that power and keeping your licence seem at odds with each other. Each to their own but I'm not interested in an EV at present due to their ugly depreciation although I guess MG's offer of 10yr/200k warranty like Mitsi ICE can address that somewhat as I think all these computers on wheels will be less long lived than simpler ICE cars from the past.

The overarching problem I have is it's nonsense to believe these largely coal fired manufactures from China are in any way saving the planet and the fickle energy to run them is anything other than environmental delusion given the diluteness of wind and solar energy-

As such no Govt should be mandating or subsidising EVs in any way shape or form particularly as the slushfunding is largely middle class welfare.

Pop bang goes the high rise EV market-  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSJpLbOi6MI
and these are relatively new cars and not tired old bangers been through 3 or 4 owners hitting the P-plater market. How many Grenfell Towers disasters will it take for the brains trust to get out of denial with their fallacy of composition problem?

So it begins heading for a complete ban-

Mind you John Cardogan has some solutions in mind if the tower blocks and carparks are not to suffer unaffordable insurance premiums-

but the ICE car neighbours won't be sticking their hands up to pay for that
