Title: Hi from Melbourne
Post by: jadeenna on May 27, 2017, 08:25:24 PM
Just wanted to say hi to everyone and introduce myself.
I am currently in Melbourne, and have recently been forming an idea of travelling around Australia for a year with my young son.
I really don't have much experience with camper trailers (or camping in general) so I am hoping to learn a bit more about them to choose the right one for our journey.
Looking forward to reading some threads and asking questions as I go along and prepare.
Kellie

Welcome Kellie, lots of people criss cross our great land alone or with children so get out there and have fun.  Your son will learn and eperience way more than can be 'taught' in our class rooms.... enjoy.  There is so much help and information available on this site that you will be well prepared for your adventure and remember, no question is too stupid to ask....
Cheers,

Welcome Kellie...something worth considering other then the style of trailer itself that suits you is the tow rig you drive, what you drive will play a big part in what can safely tow the trailer you end up with. I'm not saying you need to own a big 4wd to do such a job by the way, just that the type of vehicle you might drive, can limit the choices of trailers to choose from....overall trailer weight aswell as towbar downball weight that your vehicle can handle will be things you'll need to consider in your search. You are likely going to get a hundred different answers to any questions you ask when it comes to camping, and that's because everyone's idea of what camping is really is different for all...some peoples must haves as far as what gear is needed, are just glamorous extras to other campers. At the end of the day it matters not what you drive or sleep in, most campers will all agree, that there is nothing better then sitting around a campfire at night in the middle of nowhere, looking up at a sky full of stars  8) 8)

Hi everyone, thank you for the welcome! I will be upgrading my car as I own a mitsubishi colt that probably wont tow much. Anyways, I have some questions I'll direct in the appropriate area. Thanks again all :-)
