Title: Hi from Newcastle.
Post by: 03hilux on January 14, 2013, 03:56:44 PM
Hi, Ive been camping and boating for the best part of 35 years, and took up 4wding a few years ago. I met my wife 20 years ago, and although she has enjoyed overnight stays on the boat, she wasnt keen on camping. We have 2 kids now and she decided to give camping a go for the first time since she herself was a kid. We went away with some friends and a porta potti for 4 nights, and my wife was converted.
In the last 3 years we have averaged a camping trip every 3 months, the biggest one being a 2 week trip to Fraser Island in October 2012. For Fraser, we hired a Johnnos camper, and now Im allowed to begin to build our own camper.
I plan on building a semi off road 7x4 off road trailer, and after plenty of research, will place an order with Jason at Aussie Jays campers before easter.
I have set a rough completion date of Easter, due to work commitments, combing forums for ideas, and lack of spare time and have set a budget of $5ooo for the build.
