Paris 2024
« on: August 09, 2024, 08:01:44 PM »
Have quite enjoyed watching a fair amount of the olympics.
Not going into some of the controversial issues, but have a few pet peeves.
Mark Taylor (great cricketer) commentating the diving????
Just waiting for the break dancing to come on - I hear we have a highly qualified entry in the womens section - she has a Ph D in break dancing. WTF. Looking forward to the next games to be able to watch the Ballroom dancing.

I think the whole coverage by channel 9 has been the worst I have ever seen.

What has happened to archery, shooting, table tennis, equestrian, wrestling, weight lifting, and the list just goes on and on, oh wait, you could have spent 2 or 3 hours watching the mens marathon swimming though.

Channel 9 , pathetic

The shooting was on the 9now channel, but for the clay target, they only planned to show the Men's and Ladies Trap Finals if we were in it, which they did. They even managed to put a whole ad break in the men's final while James Willet was shooting his third target! Hopeless, and good like trying to find a replay.

They were never showing the Skeet.

I saw a clip of the one Aussie Breakdancing this morning, and it was embarrassing. I am of the age where I grew up with it, so can appreciate breakdancing when I see it, and that wasn't it. Nor should it be an Olympic "sport".

Team Aussie has done very well though, and it is great to see.

Agree.
Even the closing ceremony, what I saw(10 minutes, was too much) of it this morning before work.
WTF
