Accomodation in Darwin
« on: September 17, 2016, 06:01:49 PM »
We will be having a few days break from the 14th to 17th of October in Darwin and looking for accommodation in Darwin. We want luxury as it will be our last break before the wet season.

Where have people stayed and what sight-seeing trips have people done, places to dine etc. Penny has never been to Darwin and I want to spoil her. It's also her birthday weeked getaway being a few days later.

Not sure where to stay as I've always camped or backpacker hostels but to see and do:
Sundowners and a meal at waterfront bistro @ the Darwin Sailing Club. http://dwnsail.com.au/the-club/

Sunset Cruise on the Streeters Pearl Lugger departs Stokes Wharf so plenty of places to have dinner afterward

Ive stayed at the Vibe Hotel at the waterfront a few times when I have attended events/conference there or at convention centre. I have stayed in the lower end accom, but Im sure you can get pretty flash with great views.  Ive liked it as town is walking distance (but can be a bit long if its real build up weather) as well as walking to plenty of places to eat, warf and deckchair cinema, as well as town. overlooks wave pool if you like safe swimming!

I stay at Zen quarter https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/ramada/darwin-australia/ramada-suites-zen-quarter-darwin/overview?WID=LC:RA:20150901:Rio:Local when up there for work. Best place I've found in the city, I've tried half a dozen different joints now.

Thanks everyone.

We ended booking a 1 bedroom executive apartment at the Ramada for the 3 nights.

Interesting we booked on wotif for $448 for the 3 nights and then when I got the confirmation I checked the prices again and it dropped to $380 for the 3 nights including free breakfast. So cancelled the first booking and re booked cheaper. Gotta love that  ;D

Good Choice,
The best location and hotel in Darwin. Always stay there when I'm in town and recommend it to friends.

Hunuman and the Manoli's Greek Restaurant are great. Hunuman is a bit expensive but the food is excellent. Manoli's is a a warm friendly family run business with great food at reasonable prices.

Both are walking distance from where you are staying.

Cheers

Steve
