Your mate does nice work, all the rage epoxied tables and boards. Very nice.
For me it’s just a little hobby, a bit of respite. If I make a few bucks it’s a bonus. Toys by Pottsy if your interested.

Built myself the workbench this weekend.
Plastic tray storage underneath.
Vice pad on the corner.

Still looking for other ideas for the bench area. But very happy with the progress

The shelving system is structurally built. Still needs paint and timber tops.

But it’s solid. 400kg of steel up there. 26m of 800mm wide shelving should store most of my junk off the floor.

Vice pad on the corner.

How have you done that ???

I need to sort out a way of setting my vice up so it's not in the way all the time :-[

Fuzzies,
I welded some 6mm plate onto the steel frame.
75mm around the post in all directions.

The plan is to keep the bolt pattern drilled and install as needed. But honestly it will probably stay there most of the time.

I find if it’s accessible I will use it for those quick jobs instead hold stuff by hand to drill etc.

Looking to install this combination vice to aid its versatility. Which should also spin back over the bench to avoid that walk past knock to the hip.

My last shed, I had 3-4 positions that I could bolt vices, the grinder, etc to, and just used the rattle gun to hold them.

All plates and mounting holes were in the same place so everything was interchangeable in different spots, or I could have a clean benchtops.

Next bench will be steel so I can use it for welding, but with the same mounting system.

Thanks for the idea drew,

I’ll start with the vice and look for a bench grinder to suit the same position.

I have a space nearby I can rack up the unused options.

6” Bench Grinder.
Small Drill press.
Vice.

I'm thinking slightly differently, of making everything fit the same holes ;D

Mount each unit onto the same size board eg 300 x 300, then drill holes in the bench to suit that 300 x 300 board, so you could have the vice sitting there, move it away to mount the grinder in the same spot & so on.

I made my bench grind so it swings under the bench. When I need to use it I swing it up, put in 1 bolt and tighten. Quick, easy and no lifting.

I knocked up a sun shade for my box trailer...
4.2L TD Toyota Troopy, (Clarke's Country Camper Trailer, softfloor.) sold it and bought a Avan Ray small poptop caravan. I miss being able to acces the little tracks off into the scrub.

Not the man cave but it does abut the man cave

Other half has indicated that she has a rat problem (no, it is not me), in her garden shed (10M x 3M). So I put baits in there, about 1 month ago.

The other day she mentions it smells a bit in there, so I go in, or more accurately attempt to go in, and get forced back by the smell. So, I gird the loins and enter with trepidation and dry retching and remove a quantity of bags, tools and general garden detritus and eventually found a dead rat. Good clean up and all OK.

Next, the other half 5 days ago "I think there might be another dead rat" OK rinse and repeat the above, find another dead rat, but this time rats have chewed through several bags of "stuff" (blood and bone and organic compost) so they are spread around among the shelving.

Damn, remove all the crap AGAIN!, remove shelving, clean out, reassemble shelving, reinstall all the crap AGAIN!, put around a heap of new baits.

See what happens from here.
