another quick addition to the french cleats in the garage...

the boys are using small rubber bouncy balls for handball at school and at home, and are acquiring them at a fast rate of knots...

came up with a way to try and tidy them a bit, instead of finding them everywhere, stashed around the house... :D

got the idea from the old stubby cooler holders that are scattered around the place...

Showed the wife and she says a great way to keep your balls under control. ;D

and then realising i didn't actually have a stubby cooler storage system, i quickly rectified that as well, with bits and pieces in the shed...

Got a price for my new shed yesterday.

8x6 pitched roof, on 125mm slab, side security door, window, single 5.5 motorised roller...

About $16k all up - all Aussie steel and Colorbond - seemed like a fair price to us?

Sounds like a good price to me. I just got a fly over roof put on my place, about 6x5 fully insulated, 14k.

Been prepping the Mini for the Auction @ Lloyds.

Quick once over with some Banana Wax, wipe over the interior and she's good to go.

This Banana Wax seems the go, easy on, easy off and only $142.00 for a 5 litre container of it.
I got some off the marine guy here in town, scored 4 litres for $20.00.

Baaaaargain.

This is my new project once I get a couple of others done.

This is a C1880 Bow Rocker horse by G & J Lines who were English makers.

Will certainly be a challenge but it will be worth it if I can bring it back to life due to his age & he has been in his owners family a long time.

Certainly a challenge by the looks of it.
Big thing is, it'll show you how they used to make them.
You've taken on a challenge that could pay off later.
Well done.

Whats the process, where would you start on something like that? With the rocker or the horse then what?
Challenge is understatement by the look of it.  8)

! piece at a time. Separated the head where it was broken which took a while as it had been nailed & screwed in an old repair. The previous repairs have added to the damage.

Will work on stabilising all the cracks in the head first by filling any wider cracks with small pieces of timber then injecting a glue into the narrower ones & maybe insert  a dowel running from under the nostrils through to the back of the ears. Will see how it feels first. I will have to make new rockers as they have been broken & repaired before and 1 section has a big twist. But I will wait to after the horse is back together so I can match the leg angle & spacing.

And through the process a generous application of naughty words & tantrums. :)

Didn't a member here build a rocking horse a few years ago? I'm sure I saw time interval pics of the project. Perhaps not this forum, though?

Just found the thread, Raym and 'twas you ;D ;D ;D ;D
