Title: Home Weather Station
Post by: alnjan on December 29, 2019, 02:58:34 PM
G'Day Swaggers,

As the title says.  Looking at finally getting a Home Weather Station.

Have been doing the google search to get some info on what is what and trying to work out which is which.

Not after top line or Pro Stations, just the Home one that does :temps, wind, rain fall,  humidity and barometric pressure.

Yeah I know about the piece of string but would also like one that works back to the phone to keep a record of the max, min and rainfall readings.

Something like this one.  https://www.amazon.com/Ambient-Weather-WiFi-Station/dp/B01N5TEHLI?tag=wsadvisorpws-20 (https://www.amazon.com/Ambient-Weather-WiFi-Station/dp/B01N5TEHLI?tag=wsadvisorpws-20)

If there are any weather people out there that have some info, be appreciated, thanks.

I bought my wife a WH2910, which looks pretty similar to what you are looking at.

Its only been running since christmas day, but appears to be doing a pretty good job, we even got some propper rain to see that the rain gauge part worked .

Installation wasn't too difficult, although it took a bit of time to configure. That was mainly down to me fitting it to the roof without bench testing it 1st and a dead AA, straight from the packet.

I have one of these, minus the remote. Had it for over two years, no issues, still on the first lot of batteries, solar charger in built, wifi to display, our display is probably 10m from the station and thru two brick walls and it works well. Can download data to computer if you wish, I don’t bother.

Not wrong about time on your hands.  Fair bit to go through.  The link looks okay thanks.

Thanks to other for your help.

Yes Mark we still look outside to see what it's doing.

Having grown up on a farm my Dad always went off the Barometer and Hygrometer to check when to spray but a digital one for one reason is preferred.

About 22 yrs ago the Bride had major surgery on her right leg, sort of amounted to reconstructing the three major bones in the leg.  As a result nice scarring from ankle to hip.  Over the years she has what she refers to as her weather ache above the knee.  From what research she has done she believes it is related to barometric pressure.

I am keen to have a record of it and just see if anything weather wise marries up with her 'weather ache'.

A while back we bought a Storm Glass just for something different but I reckon a Home Weather Station would be better.

Look out the window, or listen to weather on TV and expect the opposite.
