I was actually surprised how much is still manual as far as the measurements. The guys welding up the frame had tape measures out  :o

Yer was a top watch.. Now i understand why there so dam dear $$$$$$$$$$$$$ and when you see how there built , i think it would be fair to assume a well look'd after unit would last a life time. Was amazed at the corner construction, Bet that's copy righted.

Australian Winni's are not made there, don't share very much in the way of build technique and are not even associated in business terms. The local mob just own the name in Australia.

:D No Winni is here (west of Sydney) but it's not part of the US company. It's a family owned show in it's own right

I was surprised that the actual chassis of the truck, when they were being built at the Freightliner plant, was bolted together.

To get the "basement" in the RV, they make the chassis in 3 parts, the front frame, rear frame, and the middle "dropped" frame. The middle section simply bolts to the front and rear frames. Granted, it used big bolts, and a bunch of them, but it surprised me. I would have assumed that the chassis would have been welded, and braced along the top. I guess the welded floor section of the RV braces it enough.

Was certainly interesting to see how quickly they can bang them out though. Personally, I'd just like one of the bare chassis rigs to drive around on - that looked pretty fun as they drove them out of the factory.

Thanks!
Matto :)
