some great photo's, a quick question, i avoided Nolan's (had a large camper and did not want to risk it), the people opposite our site at Punsand resort had their Vehicle (towing a camper trailer) written off at Nolan's (it was recovered to the RACQ centre in Bamaga),
was it extremely more difficult this year?  Speaking to some mechanics in Cairns they hinted that Nolans claimed quite a few this year

I don't think it was any more difficult than in past years, but as is always the case the crossing varies from year to year.  If you don't walk it first, plan your recovery, and more importantly - have your straps etc attached BEFORE you attempt the crossing then you are tempting fate.

In my opinion if there were more scalps taken this year then it purely would be due to the increased amount of vehicles doing the track.  Every year more and more people head up that way, so it is logical that there would be more people getting into trouble.

Yeah I thought this year Nolan's though deep and longer than previous years was fairly easy as long as you had the weight to keep the wheels in contact with the bottom. Oh and you made sure to walk it and talk to people who had already done it
