Just about to buy our first camper
« on: November 11, 2012, 10:57:39 AM »
Gday all

We have been watching this site for a while now and we have gained so much knowledge from just reading other peoples expriences. Thanks everyone for sharing.

We have narrowed it down and stuck between a CUB supamatic drover or a complete campsite soft floor. We are thinking of the future and would like kids, thats why we have the complete campsite in the mix, more room in the annex for them to sleep.

Do the people who have CUB's or with any hard floor camper find it comfy with their kids aswell? Or would we be better off with a complete campsite?

Cheers

We have a hard floor and our two boys came camping with us for many years, there was room on the floor for 2 x stretcher beds with room to walk past to our bed and all of our cloths bags etc were at the foot of the boys beds.
We find that the only time your inside is to get changed ( so we don't scare the wild life  :o ) and to sleep, the rest of the time we're outside enjoying the great outdoors  ;D

All the best with your search,

Cheers

Have a look at Central Coast Campers (Charmhaven NSW).

The owner terry was the canvas maker for Complete Campsite until he went out in his own.

We have just ordered one from him and are waiting for collection day, which hopefully is within the next couple of weeks.

$20000 for off road model, large top quality tent (Australian canvas) very well built trailer (walk up model), SS kitchen, and ample lighting. Terry is very approachable and will listen to all your requests and make any changes you require.

Good luck with your selection. Can't wait till we pick ours up.

Welcome Brendon.  Plenty of help on here.  We went with a soft floor as we have two teenage kids and none of the hard floors had enough room with just the tent up, needed to put the annex up as well.  Others may have different views.  Good luck with whatever you decide.

Happy camping

We are just about to get our first ct as well and it's a hard floor. Plenty of space for a set of bunks. And normally you can get add on bedrooms.

Hi Brendon
I would seriously look around as there are lots of quality soft floor units out there. CC do make a quality camper. Look at Trackabout, Customline, Aussie jays and the list goes on. Good luck with it.
