Title: Brizzy Beach Loving Camper saying hello...
Post by: BaseCamp on November 13, 2014, 06:21:26 PM
Hello everybody!

I've been enjoying myself and having a good read through many of the threads on this forum.

Everyone seems very friendly and polite - which is wonderful..  I also appreciate all the ideas and stories that I have read as well..

Looking forward to (hopefully) switching to semi-retirement mode in the next couple of years, and joining the Grey Nomad circuit..

I have a Triton ute with aluminum canopy set up - sleeping accommodation inside...   Use this for short trip camping on the dunes at Bribie and Fraser...    This set up is equipped with a national Luna 90Ltr fridge and LEDs etc.

In the future I hope to hook up a gas fired 'instant' hot water unit I recently purchased at the caravan show in Brisbane...   I am also seeking out some semi-flexible solar..

Because of work demands - I have mostly been on camping trips for only a few days at a time at around tops - a day's drive ex Brisbane..  Including Fraser; Bribie; outside Stanthorpe (in winter, ouch!); and NPs near Kilcoy..

I mainly like to free camp for the: .."how's the serenity" aspect to it   :cup:

I used to own a Travelander slide on - but got rid of it due to tonnage issues...    Now just operate with the ute and canopy; and for the longer trips, use a Black Wolf Turbo tent...

My next mission is to learn how to successfully install a giant tarp over the whole tent site - which will make for happy camping...     (I am on the list for the Super Peg group buy too...).

Tomorrow (FRI 14th) is a public holiday in the Brisbane metro area because of the G20 thing...  I am hoping to go visit Super Peg in Yatala for some R&R...

Thanks for reading..

Welcome WagonMan to Myswag. Great group.

Make sure you talk to JetCrew on this forum about your Solar. Great gear at great prices.

Keen to hear your thoughts ion the best places to camp on Bribie. Going to start going there more regularly so keen to know where to go.
