Hi There,

Have come across this forum reading others blogs from their trips around australia , We are a 25 yr old couple who have given notice for our jobs to finish up at the end of the year and head off around oz in our troopy. Anticipated start date Jan 20th 2018.

Looking forward to as much info and knowledge we can get on here from you all!

Good luck guys, sounds exciting! :)

We're now planning our own "Big Lap" type trip, though probably heading off 6-12 months after you guys.

  • Now a small poptop c'van. Really miss the CT :-(
Nice choice of vehicle, but then I'm a bit biased. Hope to see plenty of pics of what you have done with your Troopy, in prep for the trip.

Start a thread in Member's 4WD's if you haven't already. I bet there's more than a couple of us on here keen to see what you do! ;) The Troopy should serve you well.

We considered doing the Troopy conversion (part of me still wishes we were going to!) but we're going to get a caravan instead. Lots of pros and cons with either option! :)

Thanks for the advice still not too sure how it all works on here will do!

We had a year old izuzu d max but wanted to take our tinnie on the roof so rooftop tent was not going to work then we had the troopy idea and it just made sense to sell the izuzu half our monthly repayments and got a 2005 white troopy , The naming game continues  ;D

Welcome to myswag.  Good luck with your preparations for your lap of the amp.  Would also be keen to see your Troppy build progress.

Happy camping
