As part of the planning process, just wondering how many others would be taking a pet on this trip ?

I know that Mark McGirr and myself are.

We take our Simese Cat everywhere with us....   We trained him up from a kitten to handle car travel - (cats generally hate car travel)....

During the day at camp he stays in a "cat tent" - bought off ebay....   at night zzzz in the van

My plan is to take Tucker, our Samoyed with us. He's 19 months old now. So hopefully he'll settle (a little) before 2018.

He's fine with long distance travelling and 4wding too. No car sickness. My only concern is the heat.

Based on the above advice, may I ask how those taking pets are going to work around this?  Genuine question as we are thinking of getting another woofer.  Thanks

KB,
no answers as yet...we are trying to look at options for staying, and also logistics for day trips..what may or may not work.

Pet friendly places on the trip.

Katherine caravan park

Zebra Rock caravan park

Lake Argyle

Kununurra caravan park

Elquestro

Home Valley

Drysdale Station

Mt Barnett roadhouse / manning gorge

Naturally all national parks are a no go zone with pets

Derby

Broome

Middle lagoon

Members without pets traveling will enjoy the national parks and we may have a dog sitting roster organized.

We can also book pets into the local vets for the day if doing day trips.

Just a note members without pets will not miss out as the Itineray will include all national parks.

I have emailed both places and they do allow pets as we are heading that way in a months time.
