Started my clean up at 7am and finished at 3pm with a quick stop for a sanga.

2.5hours on the saw.......best run its ever had and 5 trips to the tip....thankfully it was free to dump "storm damage" or it would have cost me $75.

Best thing.........when I got the tree out of the way my views are now right along the Noosa Northshore from the river mouth.

Beer steak and bed early tonight though.

Yep,
Scenic Rim had over 500mm.
Lismore was predicted to be the same height as in 1954.

was  just lookin at the live fires.. one at Jervis Bay sounds nasty - emergency warning heading towards the village..

few burn offs happening too around the place one back in the shire, 16ha at moment,  by morning will be 1/2 of Natio.... I'd say they would be at warning level: brown pants about now...

Just saw on the telly across the bottom of the screen that the Jervis Bay fire is out of control  :'(

A bush fire is burning in the area of Summercloud Bay Rd, south of Jervis Bay. The fire is out of control. The fire is moving north towards the Jervis Bay Village.

Current Situation
The fire is burning in the area of Wreck Bay Road. It is spreading in a northerly direction towards Jervis Bay Village.

If you are in the area of Jervis Bay Village, seek shelter as the fire arrives. Protect yourself from the heat of the fire.

Firefighters and aircraft are working to slow the spread of the fire. Crews are stationed in Jervis Bay Village.

Emergency Alert telephone warnings are being sent to people in the area.

The Large Air Tanker Thor has been deployed to the area. Retardant is being used to help slow the spread of the fire.

Jervis Bay Road and Wreck Bay Road are closed.

Advice

Ahh good old Victoria aye....
Thunderstorms and flash flooding, then 45 degrees, then it catches fire, then it’s back to max temps of 20 degrees.

And that’s just Friday’s forecast...  You should see what it’s going to be like over the weekend down there.... :P

listening to the weather on news this morning "STORMAGEDDON" in sydney... apparently its now next to atlantis...

its a "Crisis" .... "Im standingin over a ft of water".. camera pans down, not even 1/2 her shoes are wet.....

Sydney copped 90 millimetres of rain in 90 minutes this morning and it happened when we were waiting on the installation of a new box gutter. I've spent the morning moving stuff around and vacuuming up water from our ground floor. With a full complement of guttering, we'd have been fine.

I heard on the news that two police officers were seriously injured when a tree came down while they were trying to help a motorist who was stuck in a flooded street.
Sydney's infrastructure is not designed to cope with once in  a hundred years tropical rain, which is what we got this morning.

Ooooiiii we dont like to get our suede shoes wet. Our 2 million dollar terrace houses can only handle 1mm or less of rain under the 70 year old footings or the whole frikin lot falls over and collapses on my Range Rover, that has not moved from out the front since i bought it home from the dealership in 2016 or else i would loose the parking spot.

So take your northern attitude and swing back up in the tree that you came from

ummmm………..wasn't the once in a hundred years storm last year or was it the one a year before..………...well, that what the media said...…….apparently we get a once in a hundred year storm every year or second year ;D ;D

In Newcastle at the moment, hasnt been to bad today, but just found out the eye of the storm is going right over the top of us tonite, the thunder and lightning is picking up, was going to Sydney tomorrow to do a job, but stuff that, going to go to Brisbane  then back home tomorrow night, be glad to get back to some sensible weather
