Apparently my home phone and internet is about to be turned off because I haven't taken up the NBN offer.
Just have to press 1 to speak to a technician.

Ain't no Nbn in this suburb yet. ;D

Got three phone calls today telling me that Optus are going to disconnect our NBN service unless I let them fix my computer.

Area isn't NBN enabled and we're with Telstra... But I played with him for a while then used his remote control software to send a virus to his computer from mine :)

It won't replicate outside of their network...

This is the mob who specialise in ripping off pensioners by getting them to install remote control software, then showing you that you have a "virus" a on your machine, whilst in the background dropping a crypto locker on your PC, taking computers ransom in the process... They tried it on the computer I let them remote into, before they got their own back ...

They shouldn't try hacking a hacker :) (white hat not black hat)

Here's an email address that you can use for all of your dodgy websites and promotions:
cheri@vital-data.com

Cheri emailed me this morning trying to sell me peoples email addresses so they can get spamed.
That fact that Cheri has my email address says to me that my email address is also for sale.

So Cheri, I'm off to find a bunch of super creepy websites to sign you up to some mailing lists. I hope you enjoy all of the spam that's on it's way to your inbox......

I was watching y.ou tube the other day.
There was this guy who was being scammed by one of, shall we say, less than poor English.
When the scammer connected with the guys computer, he also allowed the guy to send the scammer a rather nasty package.

The scammer went off when his computer locked up and was now under the control of the guy he was trying to scam.

It would 've nice if it happened more often, but scammers are getting careful not to pick the ones who can do it to them.

Have had 3 calls today >:(

Not quite a robot voice, but not normal human either - almost as if they're talking into a speech changer thingie ???

"Hi this is Nicole from the Australian National Broadband Network. We have been trying but unable to get in contact with you. This is to advise that your internet & telephone will be disconnected withing 24 hours so you can be transferred to the NBN. Please press 1 to speak to the technician involved. Thank you"

Sorry, Nicole (who was Australian btw), but we've been on the NBN for almost 12 months now! >:D

I had no trouble at all resisting any urge to push one to speak to the technician ;D

Hi,
Any body who calls from 'Telstra' now gets asked for our account number and the amount of the last bill if they wish this conversation to continue.
They hang up very quickly.
Yes, I have memorised the number.
Cheers

I had one today who I RAT'd and SYSKEY'd just after he ran the file he copied from my "Infected PC" called "login to online banking"...

Been watching a guy in YouTube lately who will take down every PC in the office the scammers connect to him from...

The sad thing is I don't believe half the people misrepresenting Telstra, NBN, Optus, etc believe they are doing anything bad, because they have been told by their superior that it's an honorable job to help others

Earlier this year fake PayPal and Optus texts and emails were being used to scam unsuspecting Australians, and now it looks like it's JB Hi-Fi's turn. A text message has been circulating from 'JBHiFi' that is definitely not from the retailer. Here's what you need to know.

The body of the SMS addresses the reader by name, stating that it is looking for testers in their local city and has signed them up. It is also accompanied by a link.

The retailer took to social media earlier today to warn people about the scam.
If you do receive a scam email or SMS from 'JB Hi-Fi' or a similar sounding suspect source, report it to Scamwatch and don't click on any unknown links. The site also offers advice and resources to those who have been victims of a scam.

WOW. MyGov worked out a tax refund for me.
Pity the ATO have already paid my refund.

Email looked Okay except -
  • I submitted my return by logging into MyGov, to then go into the ATO.  (MyGov is just a portal to other government sites)
  • The amount wasn't even close.
  • The privacy statement "we take reasonable precautions"
  • Didn't have my name or anything else to identify me.
  • I always hit the reply button and check out the email address7

Had a call with a recorded message from the Australian Broadband Network, whatever that is, telling me that my landline will be disconnected in 24 hours and to press one to speak to a technician.
My landline was disconnected six months ago.
Dunno what the scam is but I am not wasting my time to find outl

l heard about a bloke that was trying to  selling PDFPs to Swaggers .
The PDFP is a Pre Dug Fire Pit  , before you go to a camp site you need a fire pit there  .
All you need to do is send me the dimensions of the fire pit required & it can be Predug for you .
This is a time saving camp accessories that allows more drinking time .in a chair with beverages .
As a PreXmass Warmer l will throw in a huge quantity of PLFW  , a real Hot item  .
PLFW  Per Lit  Fire  Wood  a really Hot item  for your camp site  .
Sit back  , sniff smoke , watch flames dance , drain cans/stubbies/wine glasses  .
Email me mullite slabs of VB  Cans to my Engal fridge per PDFP & PLFW requirements . Price on application , depending on state /territories
Be quick for Xmas                       :cup:
