New B
« on: June 04, 2011, 10:59:56 PM »
Hey guys I am just like the rest of you guys here.

Started my off road CT build last block i was off work, and am looking to build it off road with the capacity to carry 2-3 dirtbikes aswell.

ATM the frame work for the chassis is started. 50x50x3mm tube and draw bar 50x75x3mm. I have gone for a farily long draw bar and have moved the axle a little further forward than it should be to try and compensate for the weight.

This is my first ever buils, so I am sure I am not doing this the correct way, but I am happy with the scenario so far.

Back home from work on Wednesday, so I have the mudguards, axle, hubs, brakes and hitch to get fitted this week.
Big ask I know, especially with three gremlins and my beautiful understanding wife.

I know ........ No pics yet, I am at work and have them on my Iphone, so not to sure how to put them on..
Will do so when I return home.
Look forward to all your input and direction as I have seen already that this is the place to be.
Thanks and all the best with ya travels

Cheers all

I'm kinda thinking ive stuffed up already................ ???

frame is 3050mm long, by 2200mm wide to the outside of the wheel arches, almost 10 feet by 6. with a draw bar of 3000mm.

1500kg rebound springs with a 50mm square 81inch axle, to hydraulic brakes and landcruiser 16 inch rims.

I'm planning on setting the camper towards the rear of the frame work, leaving me around 1200mm for draws infront of that for 12volt system, gas, water and fuel storage........
Sounds like alot of weight you say..... I know!

Then I wanna be able to mount my dirtbikes on the draw bar.

Other wise I am thinkin of another system, which is already around http://extrememotos.com.au/MotorbikeCamperTrailer.html
trying to set this to the rear of the trailer, which will then leave me plenty of room up front for a storage box, as well as fuel, water, gas on the side mounts of the wheel arch fill in points.............................

Too much to cope you think?
Fire away............. I'm waiting for the "your dreaming"!

Oh I also want to keep it single axle, as my beautiful darling wife, can't reverse a trailer for $#*@.............
Dream as if you'll live forever...... Live as if you'll die today!!!
