Title: New gas bottle fittings.
Post by: Hairs on October 28, 2022, 06:12:35 PM
Got caught out with this today.
Assemble a new BBQ for a property owner, a flash hood unit, has a side ring burner, the hose fitting is not compatible with the regular 9kilo bottle. Apparently all bottles will go to this.
The valve when turned on, will not let gas out, Unless the hose is fitted.
So, your old faithful BBQ, Gas Heater, you will have to upgrade the hose with a new fitting/egulator.
Going to be a lot of people caught out.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20221028/d03e9caa553c4dcc9548f94c25fac05d.jpg)

You don't use magic to disappear, ya use a 4x4 & Swag.

The old regulators will still screw into the new fittings as they still have the internal threads.

Old style regulator will still fit a new bottle, but not the other way round. New regulator won't fit an old bottle. There's 9 years left of the change-over period until the old POL style become illegal.

Just make sure the internal rubber seal is in the gas bottle. I picked up one in tassie and mine was missing. Gas was leaking out.
