Title: Travel Buddy Oven...Original v Marine
Post by: weeds on November 09, 2018, 04:35:02 PM
I’m tempted to purchase one........

Space as always is a premium....I wondering if sacrificing space for temp control is worth it

Thoughts

How often do you think you'd use it? I bought the dick smith one when it was on special for $20 or something about 2yrs ago. still sittin in the box, I always look at it when Im packing and wonder what Id use it for.. mate did jam donuts in his several years ago which were welcomed up in the snow on Mt Skene...

Building this rig up to live in for 1-2years...lap of oz than ship across to Europe

fallback back is lap of oz.

So expect to use it a few times each week.

Mate I have the Marine, it’s a cracker👍🏻 Pies, turkey cheese and cranberry rolls, trays of lasagna and yes donuts. The extra size and versatility of the marine was what sold me! Great for travelling, especially in winter!

Cheers

I've got one too. Still in the box. I have since found that I can't eat wheat, which hasn't helped.

I've had the Dick Smith one for about 5-6yrs and it's great for what it is but can't comment on the marine one. Have done frozen fish along with reheating precooked meals also.  It was $20 = :cup:

I have the marine. I use it a lot when travelling with the kids, but not with the wife as she doesn’t like the smell of the cooking food in the car. It’s great to pull up and the meal is ready after a long days drive.

Umm, given you can fit four pies in the original, and it’s only the two of us

I’m assuming there is enough room for a meal for two I.e. small roast and veg, casserole, lasagna, rhubarb pie??

Mate you can come and look at mine if you want to. I’m in the inner north of Brisbane at Wooloowin.

I've got the marine & i like having the timer & temp control. Will be the best addition to a touring vehicle you can make.
As mentioned above, i put mine in the ute canopy so i wasn't distracted by the smells.

Pretty much windows down for us most of the time making the aromas less intense. .....as my aftermarket air-con doesn’t perform to expectations

Awesome, she will love you for it. Mind you, mine doesn't really get a run this time of year, its more a winter thing for me. I use mine inside on a 10A power supply as well. You cant have too many chicko rolls ;)

It was a pretty safe bet......she’s keen to give it a go with a roast.

Will fit an Anderson plug when I get home, will find a temporary spot for he short term, best I get started on the permanent solution
