Problem was you paid top dollar to watch at Calder and the facilities were crap. No shade and no where to sit in the middle of summer.

You've never been to Willowbank have you ;D
Host's the largest drag racing meeting in the world, outside of North America, apparently ::)

A grass hill, red hot tin stands for spectators paying stupid entry fees. Sloping ashphalt pits for Pro Series. Dirt, dust and rocks, or mud, for the rest of the brackets, all on the side of a hill.....

And........ One, only one M & F shower for all entrants.

Apparantly they hold world class events. Must be a world class facility ???

Sound like Calder was the prototype for Willowbank....

Don't complain too much. At least you've got somewhere to go.

This was just after I sold it 94. (I never ran those plates.) It was a fairly sharp car too, selling for $11,000 back then.
It was suppose  to be a sleeper and when Tony bought it, he just stuck a big dog in the front yard with those plates.

It could pull off a good skid though.

This is a shot of the engine bay.
To make it handle, we moved the motor down and back to get the number 1 plug lined up with the cross member.

http://datsun1200.com/uploads/photos/2672.jpg

Handled surprisingly well for what it was.
I'd forgotten how messy the engine bay was in the bloody thing too.

Thought about buying it back last year too, but ruled it out, because at best i'm idiot and it would only end up being impounded and squashed.
Long, low and slow won out over short, light and fast.

Yayyy can see that worked real well .. Wonder how they went with tire scrub on the bumps .. Probably should have kept the bump stops  and ditched the springs instead .

For those who watch Street Outlaws

Noticed a few articles that Big Chief has been recently running his Crowmod at NHRA events at the invitation of NHRA and no doubt appearance money paid by NHRA too....

Was always going to happen when this show started making these guys the biggest names in drag racing.
