2012 Swan Outback bed ends
« on: November 03, 2012, 12:18:00 AM »
Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with their bed ends, in the way of splitting or flexing. Just got our camper and noticed the ply wood under the bed really flexes a fair bit when lying in bed. So wondering if anyone has any fixes or ideas to improve.

We had a swan, noticed the same thing. Never had any issues with it cracking.
A mate also had an eagle, fairly big couple who had the same worry but no issues. I have seen one with 2 thin strips of the same ply running the length of the bed on the outside.

No real problem with the flex,  I was however concerned about (over time) the support poles wearing through the ply, so I installed some flat S/Steel plates under the brackets.  Sleep much better now, knowing I am not going to be impaled when I role over in the night. ;D
