Rose Hill caravan & camping show
« on: April 10, 2016, 08:06:11 AM »
Anybody going or gone? Went yesterday and thought it was okay. Crowds where down which was great probably cause it's the first day. Made it easy to get around. They have out a huge selection of the camper trailers in the one hall which I don't recall from past visits. It was a good day.
Here for a good time, not a long time!

I like to go every year but alas I don't think I can get there this year. I usually take a day off work and go minus the wife and kids. This year I am too busy at work and the weekend doesn't interest me especially being school holidays.

I was going to go then looked at the prices. Over $100 for a family of five for the day. No thanks

They're there (I know because I bought one after stumbling over them late in the day)

On a single table beside the Rock Tamers stand.

Agree, when there for the first time in about 4 years to find it's not the caravan, camping and 4wd show - 4wd being dropped (I  may be behind the times) and cost $45 for two to get in. Now only has the larger companies pushing their stuff although thought it strange that a well respected company displaying their new toy was asking people not to take photos of it (was nice but nothing new to the camping industry, just their version).
Guess I will call it a day for going there
Need to get the backside into gear and get out camping

I went last week didn't think it was as good as last year and a number of smaller displays seemed to be missing.

Always look at the Jayco (yet to use my 2012) and noted the biggest improvement in design in getting rid of the black hole winder at front. Moving it to the back with the square section coming to the edge of the panel.

Also noted. The prices seemed to have increased a little.

Overall not a bad dayout

Yep worst in a few years, $25 wasted, a lot of the little guys gone. Will think twice about next year.

We went yesterday as well. Not too crowded at all and it seemed that the numbers of punters were down on when we last went two years ago. Overall not much new in the industry at all. Cub had their front fold on display. Time will tell if if sells in numbers. @ $25 per adult entry it is getting to be a bit steep if you buy lunch etc.

For Newcastle, Central Coast or even Sydney based swaggers the Maitland Camping and Caravan Show is a good day out. It's on near the end of May. It still has a bit of a country feel about it and the atmosphere is very laid back compared to Rosehill. In reality most of the smaller shows are better than Rosehill now days.

I don't think penrith is as good as rosehill. Considering penrith is $15 and its disjointed and parking is a disgrace.

After attending most NSW shows in my previous job, most venues were ok, Newcastle was a good show venue. Moving up to Brisbane and attending a caravan show and the recent 4x4 show I must say the venue at the Brisbane Eckka grounds is a disgrace, disjointed, crap parking, an expectation that you can get the train and take your Engel fridge home that way too. Add to that some land appears to be sold off for unit developments further limiting the show venue. Brisbane organisers need to look for a more suitable alternative, with assistance from council.
In Sydney you are spoiled for venues including Homebush, Eastern creek, Rose Hill,Penrith etc

I haven't been to the Eastern Creek show for a few years but I reckon it would be the better show and I go to Rosehill most years but not this year. More suited to 4WDing and camping. Rosehill is more in the direction of grey nomads, not that there is anything wrong with that as I intend to be one one day.
