Most are pretty similar styles, if you have to set them up from scratch every time then you wouldn't bother, what most do is remove the bottom two pieces which then allows them to fold flat and then store them on top of the main mattress, takes 1min to set up then instead of 1hr.

Have a search for bunks, you'll probably get more info than you need.

I did this for bunks - about $100

BUNKS (http://www.myswag.org/index.php?topic=27881.msg456391#msg456391)

Folds flat and goes on top of trailer bed

Yep, I've done exactly the same and it's lasted for a few years now with no issues.

'outdoor connection' bunks are the ones you want. you may have to buy second hand, but worth it.

We bought outback connection bunks second hand. Been using them for about 4 years. They are great, they have 10 pieces, set up in 30 seconds.

Hubby and I just purchased the Disc-O-Bed Cam-O-Bunk XL bunks after looking at all the camping bunks in store and think they are fantastic. Super sturdy and impossible to tip even with hubby (100+kg) sitting on the edge. Not cheap at around $500 but built to last and easy to put together as they can just stay as 2 stretchers with the ends removed and store on top of our bed.
