G'day from West Oz
« on: April 20, 2017, 01:28:40 PM »
I sat on that intro title for too long... aaaaaaand it's still boring  :-[

As the title says, G'day from Western Australia. Rockingham to be more precise (don't hold that against me, it's not that bad). Modern Adventurer is my 4wding Instagram name: modern_adventurer_oz

There's four in our little tribe, Wife and 2 daughters - 7&9. Thankfully, everyone enjoys camping and exploring. Due to work, we haven't got out for over 12 months 4wd or camping... currently fixing that though.

We've just moved over from Sydney at the start of the year and are still getting used to our new playground, starting with a few day trips. I have to say, the work-life balance has been improved by some 12-15hrs a week with no change to working hours. So planning trips seems much more achieveable over here.

Tow vehicle is a 2006 GU-ST 4.2 TD. It's well set up for touring but needs some love at the moment with some gremlins creeping in.

Trailer is a Skamper Kamper Ranger. There's been no mods done yet, though I'm in 2 minds on whether to keep it or try and upgrade as we'd like 12v and a better kitchen system... maybe a boat rack (not neccesarily a boat though) and those things are not easily done to the current setup. I'm unsure if the effort is worth the cost.

Hmm... for a photographer, you think I'd have photos of my Camper  ???

Thanks for having a read.

Richard

Hi and welcome Richard & family.

As the title says, G'day from Western Australia. Rockingham to be more precise (don't hold that against me, it's not that bad).

Agree with your sentiments entirely, it's a very nice place to live !!  There's certainly some great camping spots in easy reach. Might see you out and about some time.
