Sorry Guys, I've been obsessed with getting ready for the Kimberly trip and as it's not going it has sat in the shed

A couple of observations, given I haven't fired it up these are speculation.

I think a grate in this would allow a better burn.
I'm not sure that there is enough air intake for cooking without leaving the door open, but it might be OK if you just want some heat.
The design will mean that it will smoke, but that is why you have the chimney.

I bought one of these a few weeks back and have used it twice so far. For the price it is ok but the steel is pretty thin and you need to keep the fire burning very hot to get any sizzle when cooking in a frying pan. I think some kind of grate in the bottom would work well to get more airflow through the fire.

Its been done before, and upscaled. Not quite portable anymore and it would go from Rare to Well Done in seconds.
