Hi from Perth
« on: January 20, 2011, 11:16:35 PM »
Hi everyone,

I am Orinoco and I have been lurking here for awhile trying and have found lots of useful information. I am looking to purchase my first C/T for myself, SWMBO and our 9 year old.

We have a budget of about $10,000 and I would like to purchase new but am keeping an eye on the second hand market as well (keep those options open).

Just for back ground we mainly camp in caravan parks (soft I know, but SWMBO likes her creature comforts ;D) but I would like to extend the trips to national parks as well but not to far of the tarmac as the towing vehicle is 4 cylinder 2wd that can only pull 1,200kg braked. No cape york trips yet :'(

I do like the look of the Cameron up for grabs in the classifieds. Pity it is in McKay.

Now I just need to get back to the common and find that C/T.

Welcome, it's probably gone already but if you want to extend yourselves there was a Camprite in last weekends paper for $12500.

Hi Orinoco

Welcome to My Swag, take your time to look for a CT and maybe try a few different one's first, with that budget you should be able to find a pretty decent set up.

It took us almost 2 years to decide which CT we wanted.
Better take your time now and you will have no regret.

G'day & Welcome.

If you can get a bargain, you may still be able to pick something up in the east and truck it over for a good price. I've seen some amazing bargains at less than $10K recently.
