I got one for our last trip, $35 from Kmart. 1.5m x 1.1m, good size for our double mattress. Did enough to keep the missus happy by taking the edge off the cold.

I have a truckers one, thermostatically controlled draws about 4A on high, keeps us warm in our camper.

Swmbo was talking about hot water bottles to warm up the bed before we get in, so that's all the blanket is for, positively not all night

Fizzie I only turned it on for a couple hours before bed just to get the bed warm. Uses around 4amps so didn't really make a dent in the battery.

We bought the blanket from Kickass but haven't needed to use it yet.

Just did a trip a few hours east where overnight temps got to 2°. Turned the blanket on at 8PM and left it on all night. With electric blanket on, phones/tablet charging plus lights and fridge, the 110AH battery was down to 12.2V when the sun came up (7:00AM) and solar panels kicked in.

What a difference to sleep comfort. Previously camping in these temps I would wake up cold occasionally, with the blanket on low all night I slept like a king!

We have been using a 240V queen dual EB for many years now. Been using since shown at a MySwag meet  back in 2014.we turn on about 1 to 1 1/2 hrs before bed and this makes it nice and toasty. Never leave on all night as it gets to hot. Works out to about 6 - 8AH used for a warm bed.
Sorry not a 12V one that was asked for.

It's actually a 115Ah Kings AGM.

Have a KickAss one.  Got it due to the inbuild timer, and 12v of course.  Works ok, does the job.

Just be aware, most 12v blankets are NOT designed to sleep ON.  They are basically a throw, wrap around or under doona for example.  Don't sleep on top of one, apparently.

We have always just used -7 sleeping bags.  In the camper and even now in the van.  We have one unzipped and under the sheet, then on top of the sheets and a light blanket we have the other one open.  On the south coast of nsw now and we don’t run the heater in the van over night. ( yet )
