Thanks guys, at the moment im still trying to weigh up options.

I like the idea of a quick setup hard floor but the price of a soft floor entices me. At the moment i have both a roof top tent and an oztent with all the accessories but thinking of selling them both to help fund a ct.

Ideally would like an offroad (have an 08 ML triton) but being my first ct thought a cheaper/second hand would help identify my real wants/needs/dislikes etc.

G'day & Welcome Sloth.

Don't think that all hard floors are easy to setup, or all are easier than a soft floor, it comes back to tent design.

How many do you need to accommodate in this new camper? It is not unrealistic to think you could pick up a quality second hand offoad CT, there's a few good ones going around, and at excellent prices too.

Hi And welcome to the Forum Sloth.

When we first started out we hired trailers to give us a good indication on which way we should go.  Just a thought, try before you buy so it doesnt became a costly excerise and you end up with something that is not suitable.  Also a good idea to start a list of what is the bare minimum you want/need then compare the campers.  Dont forget to ask on the forum also, lots of hard/soft floors here with all different price ranges.

Good Luck with the hunt
Cheers
Carl

Welcome to the Forum, the secondhand market has a great amount of bargains, you just need to be patient and one will come along.

You have a lot of choices for 2 people, do you plan base camping or short stays?
