Dad found an axe head on the side of the road years ago and gave it to mum for Christmas. He told her he'd buy her the handle for her birthday! Probably lucky for him he never got the handle coz I know what mum would have tried to split with it!

I gave the lovely one a nice pair of kitchen tongs one year....gift wrapped and all.
The look on her face was priceless.. :cup: :cup: :cup:

I then gave her something more like what she was expecting.

Scarps don't know what to tell you to get but if she wants a camera get her a camera I love our canon takes great photos. Usually our presents end up being camper related lino6 has had Christmas or birthday presents of the engel, ozpig, the techniice fridge, I received the coleman hotwater system though that doesn't get much use since the ozpig.

I have bought my partner , Glenda , a new full set of dobinson springs and a full set of dobinson mono remote reservoir shocks and a set of boss spring assist air bags.  ;D

My Fe mentioned as a chance mid year about a perfume she loved & used to have but couldn't get anymore . Come Xmas as she had been wearing my Explore Socks all winter . l felt brave enough to buy her own 3 pack of socks with another box . Opening the socks 1st her look was something between " Thankyou for Caring/lm going to KILL YOU "
the perfume seem better received all around   . That was a close 1 for sure    :cheers: Timing is everything  :laugh:

I need help also.
My notable failures have been
1. Back when we had a life before Kids, she was visiting family in France, I showed up out of the blue for surprise vist for christmas at her cousins house. She decided to do a runner to Moroco that day with another cousin. Caught her at the airport on her way out.
2. Got her a massage voucher and nice trimmings in a flash hotel, the massage was pathetic, they massaged her ear lobes apparently.
3. Got her perfume, I checked out the stuff in bath room and replaced what was empty. Didn't like it any more.

It goes down hill a bit more. but last year was the best (worst) as I had no idea at all, I had given up and decided on a coffee table for camping...... I still hear about it now.
So I am getting told very clearly that I must find something .....

All of the great jokes asside, some decent suggestions would help a bloke out. I only need to do it the once the way I see it. Then go back to normal for the next 15 years afterwards....   ;D

Apparently flowers is always a winner, as long as it's spontaneous and not because you've done something wrong.

Also gift vouchers for any shoe shop goes down well. Just be prepared for the voucher value. Apparently $50 doesn't buy much. $200 minimum.

My swmbo bought her own this year, brought a hand bag home from dfo and said "wrap this for my Xmas present" and then she wanted a ozpig front the bendigo lesuirefest......easy done this year.

1 year swmbo was complaining commenting on the fact that all the presents under the tree for her were very small so No.1 son ( not me I'm not that stupid) went to the supermarket and got an 8 liter container of spring water  :cup: and wrapped that up and put under the tree (very very dangerous move)  ;D ;D

The misses and i don't bother buying each other Xmas presents at all, haven't done so for many years now, just buy them for the kids and immediate family members (brothers, sisters and mums and dads). We used to go shopping between Xmas and New Years and buy something big for the house as a combined present to us both, but now the house doesn't really need anything we just don't bother at all with presents for each other.

My missus still lets me use the MIG welder I gave her one Christmas. She bought me a camper trailer for fathers day this year so I have a Honda generator and trolley for her Xmas present. (And a rather expensive gold bracelet she liked the look of) baz
