Only thing I can suggest is complain to parks and go somewhere else free.

That they are even considering it is sad. We moved to Australia 6 years ago, and camping is one of the many things we love about the place. Free camping is something we are only just getting into and we love it. It would be a shame for it to disappear.

The bozo who wrote it doesn't even understand public land management in Victoria. PV manage parks and reserves, depi does state forests. Depi only has one paying campsite in vic- murrindindi scenic reserve.even if they bought it in, depi doesn't even have enough rangers to patrol what they do now.
Doesn't matter that they don't understand, it's the thin end of the wedge, pick out 1 area that it will work in, do it there, and then use that area to justify going ahead every where, regardless. Cost justification won't come into it, it's not their money, but the beurocrats have to continually increase their power base to protect their jobs.
And, yes this sort of petty bl**dy mindedness really p1sses me off  >:( >:( >:( >:(
