Of course there'll be more regulation of lithium batteries as they're beginning to kill people-
https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/fire-authorities-warn-of-lithium-ion-battery-risks-after-two-students-narrowly-escape-melbourne-fire/ar-AA1ndwWr
EVs are simply much larger potential incendiaries and massing more and more of them together presents exponential risk whatever starts it. However it's more likely the insurance underwriters will be the first to really pull the rug out from under EV demand with unaffordable premiums in that regard.

Question: are the lithium batteries used in these scooters/fire starters etc made differently from the ones used by campers and caravans or for the house??

Victorian fire authorities say they're responding to almost one lithium-ion battery fire every day.

Commander Eckholdt said lithium-ion batteries were a growing concern for fire services, who are responding to almost one fire per day caused by lithium-ion batteries.
"What we are finding is that a lot of people are charging devices while they're asleep — phones, computers, scooters, that type of thing," he said.

Had a recent discussion with my mechanic about EVs, he has just completed a course on servicing them. Far more safety regulations than working on an ICE vehicle with the possibility of even more regulations to come to to fire hazards. He also mentioned something I hadn’t heard before that you should not fast charge anymore than twice a week as this will have a detrimental effect on recharge cycle life, lessen battery life.
He also made enquires re a new Kia EV6 battery replacement, a cool 48k. ( seems incredibly high to me) Average hybrid battery replacements 3.5k to 7k.

Full steam backwards.

I read that Rivan in the US are also cutting staff. It also appears that Europe is also seeing a decline in EV sales. Interesting to see what happens next..
