Help with awning poles
« on: February 26, 2014, 08:05:34 PM »
Gday,

The poles on my soft floor camper awning are a pain in the butt to setup. The poles have a 90 degree hook on the end and the camper has small steel loops bolted to the camper bows it's difficult to put the hook in the loop without the hook swivelling around or falling out. I'd love any good ideas to modify mine to make it easier and quicker to setup. I'll put a pic up in the next day or so.

Thanks for any info.

I replaced the L shaped spigots with some supapeg "flat nylon spreader rail" from BCF. A google search should find them. In the nylon piece I put a carribeena clip. Now the pole basically clips into the round steel eye on the camper.  Much more secure, easier to fit and remove.  Works well for me.
